Objectivies and Approach

The objective of this project is to develop a competence pole on parallelism in Central Africa. This pole will associate IAI with the Yaoundé University I. The activities within PARCC focus on research and education. Courses on parallel programming will be taught to IAI Engineer degree students and DEA degree students at Yaoundé I. On-going research is based on image processing.

Progress and Results

Information Dissemination Activities and/or Exploitation

In October 1996 the CARI'96 Conference (African Conference on Computer Science Research), coorganised by the consortium of PARCC, brought together more than 200 scientists from all over the world. A regional workshop on image processing is planned to take place in summer 1977.
