Objectivies and Approach

The objectives of this project are:

• the resolution of concrete industrial problems by the effective use of a high performance parallel computer (the parallel architecture CAPITAN);
• research and development actions in order to develop parallel software and applications;
• training of the South American partners in the modelling of parallel algorithms.

The following industrial applications will be developed:

• parallel algorithms for image processing to control industrial procedures in mining problems;
• 3D simulation of particles ignition in industrial ovens of copper mines;
• optimisation of a given electrical power system;
• optimisation of electric power flow.
