Objectivies and Approach

The general objective of this project is to show that Quality Control can be integrated in business and production process and be accepted by the work force in Egypt. The specific objectives of the project centre on the introduction of ISO 9000 Quality Management and Control in manufacturing based on the tool UNIQUE that was developed in the ESPRIT project 6559 and are as follows:

to demonstrate that customised software systems for quality control can be successfully applied to developing countries industry with significant tangible benefits;
to fully describe the manufacturing process at the users' sites and establish a base for the introduction of quality control systems;
to translate the UNIQUE software and user guides into Arabic;
to promote and disseminate the results of the project in Europe, Egypt and neighbouring countries using trade journals, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and seminars;
to demonstrate that quality control tools can improve the level of the personnel by enhancing their knowledge of modern techniques.
