Objectivies and Approach

The huge development of mobile communication tools and the miniaturisation of electronic devices require miniaturised power sources. Microbatteries offer an original solution to this problem. The objective of this project is the development and diffusion of improved microbatteries for all communication technologies.

The performance of microbatteries can be improved either by an improvement of the materials used or by an improvement of the technology applied. The project will deal with the improvement of an already developed batterie that has been constructed using thin film technology.

The results of the research within this project are higly relevant for portable micro-integrated electronic devices.
