Keywords: CAD, hardware/software codesign, high level synthesis, rapid prototyping, specification
Start Date: 1 March 95 / Duration: 24 months
[ participants / contact]
The goal of this cooperation is to extend the power of today's behavioural synthesis systems to the system level, and to provide a framework for electronics system design including hardware/software (h/s) codesign. This cooperation will be based on system level and high level synthesis tools developed by the participants.
The cooperation comprises software exchange, mutual visits, short term exchange of scientists and yearly workshops, one in Europe and one in the US.
European links: ESPRIT BRA project COBRA (8135).
During the first year, a joint workshop on h/s codesign was held at the University of California at Irvine. A joint course on h/s codesign aimed at both academia and industry took place in Europe in October 1996. More information about this course can be found at http://tima-cmp.imag.fr/tima/sls/course/codes.html. Similar courses are planned to be organised in Japan and the US.
