Objectivies and Approach

The objective of the project is the development of international standards in dictionary data representation for exchange and sharing of lexical data. This will be achieved through:

exchange of standard templates for machine readable dictionaries from a variety of sources,
access to English, Italian and Japanese lexical data,
exchange of software for language processing.

A key activity of the cooperative linkage would be to hold small, intensive, workshops on the intellectual issues, alternating between the two sites.

European links: ESPRIT projects ACQUILEX (3030), ACQUILEX II (7315) and MULTILEX (5304).
