The objective is to analyse the properties of an integrated electronic design automation (EDA) platform based on the integrated CAD framework developed under ESPRIT project JESSI Common-Frame (7364) and to integrate Russian CAD-tools. Work includes:
European links: The project builds on the results of the ESPRIT project JESSI Common-Frame (7364) and on EUROCHIP (6573).
The German partner developed the encapsulation technique. Russian CAD tools were reviewed and evaluated. Then the selected tools were encapsulated into SIFRAME.
Information exchange paths have been established between Western Europe and Russia on framework development, CAD evaluation and encapsulation techniques. Future collaboration plans include participants from other Central and Eastern European countries, as well as new domains, i.e. mechatronics.
The encapsulated CAD tools have been demonstrated in EURODAC'95. Reports about the project, as well as about the state of the EDA industry in Russia have been presented at the workshop on Design Methodologies for Microelectronics that took place in Slovakia in September 1995.
