The aim is to study several challenging problems of complex systems on the basis of new mathematical formulations and to develop new algorithms and computational tools with potential industrial applications.
This project follows a successful preliminary phase (EC-RU001) that was launched in November 92.
In the pilot phase, the description of a common ground for cooperation was completed, the Russian scientists were trained, the workplan and the specifications refined and each side's infrastructure and man power adapted to allow for an efficient joint work.
In the main phase, the collaboration provided new tools for controlling the behaviour of complex dynamic systems. Efficient algorithms for simulating and studying complex and distributed systems on high performance computing facilities were developed.
