The object of this project is to foster collaborations between the EU and Israel and to advance the database of information concerning the environmental operational limits of diamond devices in terms of the thermal, technical and radiation resistance of the diamond/contact materials system that constitutes the heart of the diamond electronic devices. These devices are required for in-the-field circuits or in sensors and actuators requiring signal processing at temperatures from 200 to 800°C in hostile conditions.
European links: European members of the consortium are drawn from ESPRIT project HITEN (6107) - Network of Excellence in High Temperature Electronics.
The project includes the exchange of basic diamond electronic components for testing at elevated temperatures and in high energy ion fluxes.
A number of visits between EU and Israeli personnel have been undertaken. A number of publications have arisen and one was jointly published at the 6th European conference on diamond and diamond-related materials, held in Barcelona in September 1995.
