The project aims to the development of new approaches in the field of model based predictive and adaptive control, identification and optimisation, and in particular:
These methods will be used in multi-objective design of adaptive and predictive controllers, and applied to the control of industrial plant.
Work has been done in the development of predictive control algorithms, in the study of predictive control of distributed parameter systems, in identification methods for adaptive control, in the development of non-gradient optimisation methods and in multiobjective design.
Systematic effort is devoted by RB Ltd. to standarisation of software interface (database based) for easy implementation of any control algorithms in future.
The industrial partner in the project has experience in the application of control systems and algorithms to energy consuming plant and will be in a position to exploit the results.
The consortium has organised two schools: one on identification and optimisation in Prague, and the other one on adaptive and predictive control in Oxford. Both schools have been attended by participants from the PREDCON teams as well as by external participants.
