CSG modelling is part of almost all CAD-systems for the modelling of solid state matter. Numerous theoretical investigations and implementations have been carried out. Besides its advantages, CSG models need still to be modified to envelope representations for many applications. Parameterising and real time capabilities are being lost by this process.
European links: The project will run in strict conjunction with the project CP93-9554 DODECAS
The modelling will deal with real time by focussing on a subset of CSG Models. Generic storage in databases will be established by using appropriate canonisation of representations. Deductive retrieval of variants will become substantially easier.
