The objective of ASPIC is to develop a new generation of control architectures and components to enable the flexible and modular combination of existing manufacturing cell components. The work will build on existing, well-proven products and on existing and emerging interface standards.
The approach will be to:
A pilot demonstration and evaluation is planned at the site of a user partner. All components developed in the project will be marketed by the industrial partners as modules and as complete low cost production units.
