The objective of the INTERROB project is to improve the interoperability of the standards for information exchange in the robotic area of the CIM environment. The main standards addressed would be STEP (for exchange of product model data) and the Industrial Robot Language (IRL).
The approach will be to:
The consortium will develop a close relationship with the ISO groups responsible for developing STEP.
A pilot demonstration and evaluation is foreseen in at least two industrial sites with commercially available CAD and robot systems. Products incorporating results of the project will be marketed by consortium members.
